Art on the Grand
Art on the Grand is a juried fine arts fair, presented by the Special Services Department in cooperation with the Farmington Area Founders Festival, and held Friday through Sunday during the third week in July. This “little gem” of a fair welcomes fine artists from across the country, working in various media, including paintings, sculpture, fiber, ceramics, glass, photography, and more.
An interactive art fair, Art on the Grand has enjoyed great success since its inception in 2000. It features lively musical performances, strolling actors, hands-on children's activities, free face painting, and other special features.
Art on the Grand takes place on the corner of Grand River and Farmington Road, extending into Memorial Park.
Heritage Week
Sponsored by the Farmington Area Multicultural/Multiracial Council with support from the Special Services Department and the Farmington Public Schools, the Heritage Festival is held in October at the Costick Activities Center. A celebration of the wide diversity in our community, the festival includes educational conferences and a new citizen swearing-in ceremony. The Main Festival is a full day featuring delicious ethnic foods, fine arts, cultural displays and live entertainment, and is free to the public.
