Festival of the Arts

The annual Festival of the Arts is a community-wide celebration of the arts - a collaborative effort presented by the City of Farmington Hills Special Services Department, the Farmington Community Arts Council, and the Farmington Public Schools. The festival features numerous special events and activities throughout the week, as well as over 200 framed and unframed paintings for sale by the Farmington Artists Club, informational displays by community cultural organizations, and student artwork from private and public schools and Oakland Community College. The Festival of the Arts was recognized in 2007 by the National League of Cities as a showcase event at its national convention in New Orleans.

During the week, hundreds of children visit the festival, listen to school groups perform, experience hands-on art activities and see demonstrating artists. Award ceremonies and city activities are also held during the week.
